As Christians, we often struggle with feeling lost or uncertain about our path forward. But the truth is that God has a plan for each of us, and He desires to guide us every step of the way (Jeremiah 29:11). The Bible is full of stories of people who sought guidance from God and received it in powerful ways.
In fact, the Bible says that we can ask God for wisdom and He will give it generously without finding fault (James 1:5-6). This doesn't mean that life will be easy or that we won't face challenges. But it does mean that we have a partner who is always available to guide us and provide direction.
So how do we seek guidance from God? First and foremost, it's essential to establish a consistent prayer life. This means setting aside time each day to talk to God and listen for His voice (1 Thessalonians 5:17). It's also important to read the Bible regularly, as this is where we find God's wisdom and guidance.
Additionally, we should be willing to seek counsel from other believers who have experience in areas where we need guidance. The Bible says that iron sharpens iron, and we can learn a lot from others who are further along on their spiritual journey (Proverbs 27:17).
When we're faced with uncertainty or doubt, it can be tempting to try to figure things out on our own. But the truth is that God has already given us all we need to live a life pleasing to Him (2 Peter 1:3). The key is to seek His guidance and trust in His sovereignty.
So what does this look like in practical terms? First, take time to pray and ask God for wisdom. Then, seek out godly counsel from others who can offer guidance and support. Finally, be willing to take steps of faith, even when the path ahead is unclear.
